Virtual Event

Two Track is a music video series designed for Berklee’s YouTube and social media channels that features artists in an intimate setting with only one microphone and continuous camera takes. Each recording session will revolve around a single theme (i.e., connection, love, dreams) that can be expressed by the artist either through their track selection or through a short storytelling segment that will be recorded as part of the performance. The videos in this series will premiere at specific dates and times, but if you miss the premiere, each video will be public on the channel in continuity.

This week's Two Track features Upper Structure, performing their arrangements as a 15-piece vocal group.

About the Artist

Upper Structure was founded in 2015 at Berklee College of Music. In 2018, they released their first studio album, Bridges. Shortly after the release, their rendition of "She Used to Be Mine" was recognized on the Best of Collegiate A Cappella 2018 album, and their entire album was nominated for a CARA. In addition to these awards, they finished second place overall at the ICCA finals in 2018.

In 2019, they released their sophomore album, Second Wind, and recorded their AVA award-winning music video featuring their cover of "Water Guns," originally by Todrick Hall and featuring Jordin Sparks. In the spring of 2019, they also traveled to Hong Kong and Beijing, China.

In February 2020, Upper Structure placed first overall in the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival. They placed second overall for the virtual ICCA competition in 2021.

Their newest EP, Full Disclosure, released in the summer of 2021, features their award-winning LAAF competition set, in addition to three new songs, and is available on all streaming platforms.

Their most recent accomplishment was placing first at their 2022 ICCA Quarterfinal. Upper Structure will be advancing to the semifinals, which will be held at the Berklee Performance Center at 3 p.m. on March 27, 2022. Tickets are on sale now.

Through all of their success, Upper Structure remains focused on the one reason the group started in the first place: creating unity through music. In bringing an emotional, empowering, and innovative view to the music they perform, the group has created a family with each other, as well as welcoming the world to join them.
