About the Artist
Mar Fayos is a jazz vocalist from Barcelona, Spain, with the influences of Latin, pop, Mediterranean, and soul music. She has performed with accomplished artists such as Brazilian composer Toninho Horta, Mexican composer Armando Manzanero, and the jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater, and she has performed as a soloist at the Newport Folk Festival in addition to performing at Teatro de la Zarzuela de Madrid with the Spanish producer Javier Limon and working with Sony Latin U.S., among others.
A multi-award-winning vocalist, Fayos graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in professional music focused on performance, arranging, and contemporary conducting. Recently, she graduated with honors from the Berklee Global Jazz Institute's master’s degree program in contemporary performance (jazz vocals), where she studied with renowned jazz artists such as Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, Tia Fuller, and Joe Lovano, among many others, thanks to a full scholarship.
Fayos released her debut album of original music last December, gathering a considerable fan base in Spain, Latin America, and the U.S. She is an active international performer and composer who also works in social activism and higher education institutions both in the U.S. and Spain.
