Electric violin virtuoso Jozef Nadj brings his band, the Groove Machine, to Berklee. Nadj and the band will be performing his original compositions along with standards.
Come join the Berklee harpists for their twenty-fifth annual recital. The program will feature classical, contemporary, jazz, original music, and more, plus a performance by the guzheng, a musical relative of the harp.
The Latin String Ensemble showcases the diversity of musical elements contained in Latin American music, exploring rhythms such as son, bambuco, tango, songo, candombe, currulao, guajira, samba, chacarera, cueca, huayno, mariachi, mambo, polka, cascara, joropo, salsa, pasillo, and cumbia.
Satellite of Qantara (Qantara means “arch”) brings to life a vision of unbridled fusion—blending world jazz, Middle Eastern, Western classical, and Latin American music to transcend the boundaries of genre and geography. The ensemble’s motto is “One planet, one music.”
Berklee Really Eclectic Orchestra (BREO) presents a concert of their favorite tunes arranged for strings. BREO is a community outreach ensemble free to all who participate.
The tune writing ensemble meets weekly, with each member of the ensemble writing a new tune each week. This concert will be a survey of the best tunes written in the past semester.
The Berklee Contemporary Cello Ensemble, led by Strings Department faculty member Jeremy Harman, will perform an eclectic mix of cello-centric music including original compositions and arrangements by its members.
Violin soloist Anyango Yarbo-Davenport performs Concerto in D for violin and orchestra by Wynton Marsalis. The evening will also include the overture from Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Florence Price's Dances in the Canebrakes, and selections from John Williams's score for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Alayna Mahosky presents a culminating showcase of her journey and artistry at Berklee College of Music. The performance will feature classical masterpieces, world music, and iconic scores from film and gaming.
