This is the 26th concert in a semi-annual series, featuring faculty from the Guitar Department in solo and duo settings. Kim Perlak and Sheryl Bailey, chair and assistant chair of the Guitar Department, will share the stage with colleagues who perform in the classical, jazz, fingerstyle, folk, funk, slide, modern improvisation, and blues styles.

 

Paolo Valdivia presents an evening of Afro-Peruvian jazz, fusion, and world music with bossa nova and flamenco influences. 

Professor of guitar Julien Kasper and his band, featuring Jesse Williams on bass and Zac Casher on drums, perform Kasper's unique original music. 

David Tronzo and Kim Perlak perform new written and spontaneous compositions for modern slide guitar and classical guitar.

The Bebop Guitars is a student guitar ensemble consisting of five guitars and rhythm section. The music features original arrangements and compositions by faculty leader John Baboian. The style ranges from jazz and Latin to blues.
 

This concert features contemporary jazz for five guitars and rhythm section.

Six guitar principals lead their bands in a program of originals and covers in contemporary, traditional R&B, and funk styles. This event is presented by guitar professors Thaddeus Hogarth, Jeff Lockhart, and Jim Peterson.
