Bass World: Harvie S '70

The opener, Charlie Parker's 'Confirmation,' swings like crazy with Barron laying down the first few choruses followed by Harvie's solo. The well known 'All or Nothing at All' brings a Latin touch with Harvie stating the melody and floating his solo in the upper register before Kenny Barron finishes out the song. Possibly one of the most recorded and loved jazz compositions, 'Body and Soul,' is just plain lovely. The bassist's arrangement of this standard requires a second and third listen. He plays so in tune and the feel is just right.
