William Cepeda to Headline Tito Puente Music Series

Accomplished trombonist and noted composer and arranger William Cepeda will headline the Tito Puente Music series Thursday, July 29 at 8pm in O'Day park, which is located at 85 West Newton St. in the South End of Boston. Cepeda studied at Berklee where he learned from great jazz musicians about improvisation and composition. He played with Dizzy Gillespie and Miriam Makeba. In 1997, Cepeda was selected as one of the most important and influential Puerto Rican composers. He has won awards and grants from Meet the Composer and the American Composers Forum. Cepeda will perform with a group of Berklee faculty, alumni, students, and guests. The event is free and wheelchair accessible. In case of rain, concert will be moved into Villa Victoria Center for the Arts
