Now in its second year, The Checkout—Live at Berklee brings top Berklee alumni to a New York radio and worldwide Web jazz audience,
thanks to New York’s WBGO-FM and the NPR Music website.

Dayna Stephens ’01, Christian Scott ’04, Ingrid Jensen ’89, Seamus Blake ’92, and Chihiro Yamanaka ’98 are just a few of the performers featured live on the radio and in high-definition video on the Web from the Red Room at Berklee’s Café 939.

On New Year’s Eve 2012, guitarist John Scofield ’73 brought his Überjam band into the Berklee Performance Center to the joy of a raucous First Night Boston crowd and a worldwide NPR Toast of the Nation radio audience. Joining Scofield were Louis Cato ’04 (drums), Avi Bortnick (rhythm guitar), and Andy Hess (bass), who served up a funky musical stew for listeners from Boston to Beijing. The concert can be heard on the NPR site at www.nprmusic.org.
