Cheryl Hodge, '80, a Contemporary Music and Technology Instructor at Selkirk College in Nelson, British Columbia, has been nominated for the 2010 Hollywood Music and Media Awards (HMMA) for Best Jazz Song-Indigo. This is Hodge’s first major award nomination. “I’m very excited!” says Hodge. “Up until now, this has only been a dream! I can’t believe it is actually coming true!” The HMMA honors the music of mainstream and independent artists around the world for all forms of media including: film, TV, video games, commercial advertisements, movie trailers and music videos. Cheryl Hodge has played with some of the finest jazz musicians in the U.S. and Canada. Her band, The Cheryl Hodge Group, is in the top 15 on the Canadian Jazz Charts according to Reverb Nation. Her recent CD Indigo has garnered several hits on jazz radio stations across North America.
